First off, bear with me as we transition to a new server for the newsletters. I’m sure there will be bumps. As you may have noticed, I’ve missed a few newsletters this year. Yeah, shocker, me not on schedule. Like so rare, right? Not. Being off schedule is my on time. But between the surgery, my own lack of time management, and overscheduling, I am scrambling. Again, what a surprise, right? Anyway, thanks for sticking with me. I appreciate every subscriber. I’ll do my best to get on schedule and put out the best books I can without letting so much time pass before sending out my newsletter.

Verlene’s Store Has Moved
Along with the newsletter change, I have also changed my website… a lot. Rehosted & rebuilt. Rebuilding meant shifting and moving. One big difference is my store. It has moved to Payhip. So, I did a thing…
or didn’t do a thing, depending on how you look at.
I unpublished my first series, Imagine Ink, years ago, with the intention of rewriting it. You know, getting rid of those rookie mistakes and polishing it up a bit more.
Well, as I’ve mentioned before, time management is not my forte, and I never did it. Recently, with the encouragement of a friend, I decided to bundle the series as is instead, warts and all, and offer it up to you guys in KU. I know it’s rough and amateurish, but I still love the series. I hope you will too, even in its original, un-rewritten state.
The flavor of life…
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know how utterly important music is to me. I not only meet my characters through their music, but it gets me through life and makes me feel things more profoundly than almost anything else. So, I decided to share a song and a consumable each newsletter. Without music, life would be bland. This song is sooooo appropriate for my level of time management.
Time is Up (Havok) + Time is Up Screwdriver
In honor of Havok coming to my city soon and I finally get to see them live, I’ve chosen one of my many favorite songs from them and paired it with what I think is perfect for the song: a screwdriver, but with a twist. Make a regular screwdriver (2:1 OJ or Sunny D to vodka), then add a splash of ginger juice. (You can sub a slice of fresh ginger in a pinch, but do NOT swallow it.
